Accessibility Matters
Hampden Consultancy Group is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people with disabilities.
Effective Date: 2 June 26
Hampden Consultancy Group (HCG) is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-off task.
In short: we have built our site to work with keyboards, screen readers and different screen sizes, and to be clear and easy to read. If anything gets in your way, tell us at info@hampdencg.com and we will help and put it right.
How accessible this website is
We believe most of this website meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are aware that some areas may not yet be fully accessible, and the “Areas we are still working on” section below sets out what we know about and what we are doing.
Accessibility features
We have designed and built the site with the following in mind:
Responsive design - The site adapts to different screen sizes and devices, so it works on phones, tablets and desktops.
Readable visuals - We aim for strong colour contrast between text and background, and text that can be resized in the browser without breaking the layout.
Alternative text - Images carry descriptive alt text so their meaning is available to screen-reader users.
Keyboard navigation - The site can be navigated using a keyboard alone, without needing a mouse.
Structured content - We use a logical heading hierarchy and clear page structure so content is easy to follow and to navigate with assistive technology.
Clear interactions - Links and buttons use descriptive text and labels so their purpose is clear out of context.
Areas we are still working on
We want to be honest about where we can do better. We are actively working to:
improve full compatibility with the most common screen readers across every page;
provide transcripts and captions for any audio or video we add in future;
make sure all forms have clearly associated labels, helpful error messages and full keyboard support.
We review these items as part of our regular updates and aim to resolve them as the site develops.
Get help or report a problem
If you find something on our website that is difficult to use, or you need information in a different format (for example large print, plain text or an accessible document), please contact us:
Email: info@hampdencg.com
Please tell us the web address (URL) of the page, describe the problem, and let us know what would help. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
If you are not happy with our response
We take accessibility seriously and will do our best to resolve any issue. If you are not satisfied with how we have responded, you can contact one of the bodies that supports accessibility and equality in the UK:
Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which gives free advice and support on discrimination and human rights issues. [Equality Advisory and Support Service]
Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), the body responsible for enforcing the accessibility regulations and the Equality Act 2010. [Homepage | EHRC]
Our commitment
Accessibility is part of how we design and maintain this site, not an afterthought. We check accessibility as part of our regular reviews, when we add new features or content, and when relevant standards or guidance change, and we update this statement to reflect what we find.
